Mopar has something new to give your older car a modern roar.  Pre-ordering is underway for the 1,000-horsepower "Hellephant" 426 Supercharged Crate HEMI Engine and Kit.  All that horsepower is matched with 950 lb.-ft. of torque.  They unveiled this beast of a powerplant at the 2018 SEMA Show in Las Vegas last fall.

This new engine draws on the heritage of the 426 HEMI engine that debuted more than 50 years ago.  A supercharger with a high-efficiency rotor set is mounted on the all-aluminum block.  The engine assembly and kit are designed for pre-1976 street and off-road vehicles.  The Mopar “Hellephant” 426 Supercharged Crate HEMI Engine costs $29,995. The engine kit designed for what they call “plug-and-play” installation is $2,265.
