3rd Generation BMW M6 Coupe & Convertible Revealed
2.13.2012
Following a two year hiatus, the BMW M6 returns with a coupe and a convertible. The 4-seat coupe will make its debut next month at the Geneva Motor Show, while the convertible will be on display at the New York Auto Show in April. These photos were just released by the German automaker.
The M6 siblings share the same twin turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 engine with the latest M5. According to BMW, the new engine has the highest output ever generated by a BMW M car, and at the same time provides the most efficient balance between performance and fuel consumption. Delivering 560 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque, the new engine has a 10% higher output than the V10 engine of its predecessors, with torque up by more than 30%. At the same time, fuel consumption and CO2 are expected to be reduced by approximately 30%.
The new 2012 BMW M6 Convertible will be the first to reach showrooms in June 2012. The BMW M6 Coupe will arrive in the late Summer of 2012 as a 2013 model. US Pricing, technical specification, EPA mileage ratings, standard and optional equipment will be announced closer to the on-sale date.
