2013 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT Revealed
Mercedes-Benz has built a better, stronger and faster version of the SLS AMG for 2013. Available as a coupe and roadster, the SLS AMG GT has enhanced driving dynamics, more power and a tweaked, sportier suspension.
The 2013 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT replaces the current SLS AMG. While the engine remains the same, a 6.3-liter V8, the maximum output jumps to 583 horsepower, up 20 over its predecessor. According to Mercedes-Benz, the SLS AMG GT roars from 0-60 in 3.6 seconds, 1/10th of a second better than the 2012 model, and has a top speed that’s electronically limited to 197 miles-per-hour.
Newly developed AMG Adaptive Sport Suspension gives the SLS AMG GT a stiffer, more aggressive feel. Mercedes-Benz says the result is minimal body roll, which translates to faster track times.
The interior of the SLS AMG GT features sports seats covered in designo leather with head rests embossed with the AMG crest. The new STYLE package offers contrast stitching and a diamond quilt design on the seats and door panel inserts.
The 2013 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT goes on sale mid-November. For more pics check out MotorWeek's Facebook page.
