2013 New York Auto Show Debuts
From a luxury electric to a minivan, it’s a potpourri of debuts at the 2013 New York Auto Show. MotorWeek’s John Davis is there with the latest reveals.
2014 Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive (photo on right)
The 2014 Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive is the first luxury battery electric car from the German automaker. With an estimated range of 115 miles, it will be launched here in the U.S. in early 2014. The five-seater has a electric motor that generates 134 horsepower with maximum torque of 228 lb.-ft. from initial acceleration. Mercedes-Benz says the B-Clas Electric Drive sprints from 0 to 60 in less than 10 seconds.
2014 Cadillac CTS (photo on left)
Longer, lower & leaner, the 2014 Cadillac CTS sedan adds 5 inches in length, while the roofline and cowl are about an inch lower, and curb weight is about 250 pounds lighter than its predecessor.
2014 Toyota Highlander
Toyota focuses on styling with the all-new 2014 Toyota Highlander which features a sleeker, more aggressive look and an upgraded interior. Other highlights include: new six-speed automoatic with sequential shift on V6 models, available dynamic torque control all-wheel-drive, and available blind spot monitor and rear cross traffic alert.
2014 Kia Soul
Riding on a new chassis that is stiffer, longer and wider, the all-new 2014 Kia Soul offers more passenger and cargo room, as well as improved driving dynamics. Three unique trim levels will be available when U.S. sales begin in the third quarter of this year.
2014 Honda Odyssey
The refreshed 2014 Honda Odyssey is creating buzz for a new feature available only on the Touring Elite model – a built-in vacuum made by Shop-Vac. It’s also sporting sleeker styling and safety improvements.
