2013 Ram Heavy Duty: Bold, Brawny & Best-in-Class
The pickup wars just got epic. The 2013 Ram Heavy Duty line-up premiered today at the State Fair of Texas, boasting best-in-class towing, torque, payload and Gross Combined Weight Rating.
“To answer the needs and wants of our customers, Ram Truck has taken a big step forward in capability while improving cost of ownership and efficiency,” said Fred Diaz, President and CEO, Ram Truck Brand and Chrysler de Mexico — Chrysler Group LLC.
Ram 2500 and 3500 Heavy Duty trucks add new features, including an all-new interior, next-generation Uconnect Access, Powernet, new frames and new suspension. Under the hood, the 2500 and 3500 HD are brawnier, the 6.7-liter Cummins turbodiesel produces 370 horsepower and 850 foot-pounds of torque, while the 5.7-liter gas HEMI V-8 delivers 383 horsepower and 400 foot-pounds of torque.
Ram says it reduces operating costs via a new diesel exhaust after-treatment that delivers best-in-class 15,000-mile oil-change intervals and contributes to a 10 percent fuel-economy gain
Production of the 2013 Ram 2500 and 3500 Heavy Duty is scheduled for the first quarter of 2013 at the Saltillo Truck Assembly Plant in Coahuila, Mexico.
