Something new is coming to compact luxury.  The Mercedes-Benz A-Class made its global premiere in Amsterdam.  Engine choices are a 116 horsepower 4-cylinder diesel, and two 4-cylinder gas versions… producing either 163 hp or 224 hp.  All three work with a 7G-DCT dual clutch transmission.  There are four driving modes, and the company says the fourth generation A-Class can drive “semi-autonomously in certain driving situations”.  Mercedes-Benz User Experience has also been updated.

MotorWeek is packing up and heading to the Chicago Auto Show later this week.  The new Volkswagen Arteon is expected to make its North American debut.  We showed you the global premier in Geneva last year.  The Arteon replaces the CC and slides into the line-up above the Passat. The press days at the Chicago Auto Show are later this week.
