Audi is taking technology and luxury to the next level. The 2018 Audi A8 made its world debut in Barcelona, Spain today. The company says the new A8 has been developed specially for what they call “highly automated driving”. Audi plans to bring traffic jam pilot, parking pilot, and garage pilot to the driver’s seat.
Congress is accelerating on the issue of self-driving cars. Reuters is reporting several bills are expected to be introduced this week. The plans include preventing states from setting their own rules for autonomous vehicles. The Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers and other groups have been pushing congress to take action on the rapidly emerging technology. Reuters says a formal hearing on the bills could take place next week.
EV driving is about to get more exciting in New York. Formula E will become the first international motorsport series to race in one of the five boroughs of New York City. Panasonic Jaguar Racing will be among the 20 all-electric racing teams zipping around a 1.2 mile course at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal. The Qualcomm New York City ePrix includes two races… one Saturday July 15, and one Sunday July 16.
