A Viper With More Venom, the 2014 SRT Viper TA
The SRT Viper goes hardcore. The new 2014 Viper TA, which stands for Time Attack, is set to debut next week at the 2013 New York International Auto Show. Chrysler's SRT department describes the Viper TA as street legal and track-focused.
“The new 2014 SRT Viper TA is being engineering for the dedicated track enthusiast, who still wants to drive to the track and take their hobby to the next level” said Ralph Gilles, President and CEO – SRT Brand and Motorsports, Chrysler Group LLC.
The SRT Viper TA features an upgraded suspension, including shock dampers, springs and road racing derived stabilizer bars retuned for optimal on-track performance. The brake package is being developed with Brembo and will be designed for extreme use. The Viper TA sports Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires mounted on ultra-lightweight, multi-spoke Sidewinder II wheels. An advanced exterior aerodynamics package includes carbon fiber front splitters and rear spoiler. The engine remains an all-aluminum 8.4-liter V10 rated at 640 horsepower and 600 lb-ft. torque.
On sale later this year, only 33 units of the 2014 SRT Viper TA will be produced – and only in the color you see here – Crusher Orange.
