Agent 007 Licensed to Drive All-New 2014 Range Rover Sport
The New York Auto Show kicks off with a guest appearance by Agent 007, who apparently has a license to drive the all-new 2014 Range Rover Sport. With all the glitz and glamour of a red carpet event, actor Daniel Craig drove through the streets of Manhattan to launch the Range Rover Sport.
Why New York for the world debut? Apparently not everyone rides in taxis or drives minicars. In fact, the Big Apple is the Range Rover Sport’s biggest market, not just in the U.S., but globally.
On to what’s new. Weighing about 800 pounds less than its predecessor, the 2014 Range Rover Sport has an all-aluminum unibody structure and offers the choice of a 340hp supercharged V6 or 510 hp supercharged V8 engine. It’s also 2.5 inches longer, with a wheelbase that’s 7 inches longer, creating space for a third row and improved access for rear passengers.
The Range Rover Sport starts at $63,495 and goes on sale later this year.
