It is no secret that General Motors plans to make luxury brand Cadillac its hallmark electric vehicle division. We’ve already seen company renderings of a future Cadillac EV SUV. However, now there is a credible report that among their first electric offerings will be a juiced-up fullsize Escalade. Further, the behemoth EV will have a range of around 400 miles between charges. Indeed, the Escalade’s size would seem to have the space for the huge battery pack that would require. The report comes from enthusiast site Cadillac Society, as they quote a secret internal source at the brand. If it does happen, expect this charged Escalade to arrive sometime after the regular version is redesigned for 2021. With a target range of 400 miles, an Escalade EV would have a longer range than any electric vehicle currently available. The current Tesla Model X Long Range has an EPA certified range of 325 miles between charges.
