Ahead of our first drive in the all-new 2018 Volkswagen Atlas, the German automaker has announced pricing for its seven-passenger SUV. Built in their Chattanooga plant, the Atlas will come with two engine choices: a 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder with 235-horsepower and a 3.6L V6 producing 276-horsepower. Pricing for a 4-cylinder Atlas S with FWD starts at $31,425, just barely beating the starting prices of direct competitors, Toyota Highlander, Honda PIlot and Mazda CX-9. Bargain hunters will have to wait, however since the turbo-4 will not be available at launch this May. Instead, V6 versions will hit dealerships first starting at $32,825 for a FWD S model with AWD adding $1,800. Volkswagen is also offering an Atlas S Launch edition in limited supply, which includes the V6 engine as well as a number of features added to the S trim. Pricing for the Launch edition starts at $34,425.

Buick has revealed the 2018 Regal, and it's not your grandfather's sedan...in fact, it's not a sedan at all. Coming in two variants - Sportback and TourX - the Regal lacks a true sedan version. The Sportback is as close as it gets, but numerous coupe design cues and a liftback disqualify it as a sedan. The TourX, on the other hand, is a full-blown, rugged wagon with increased ride-height, roof racks and standard intelligent all-wheel drive. The TourX steps into the ring with established competitors like the Volvo V60 CC and the Subaru Outback wielding more cargo space and a 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder good for 250-horsepower. The same engine and 8-speed automatic transmission power AWD Regal Sportbacks, but FWD versions get a 9-speed automatic. Expect to see the 2018 Buick Regal on sale at the end of 2017.
