Subaru is recalling about 230,000 of their 2018 Outback and Legacy models that can unexpectedly run out of gas due to a faulty fuel gauge and miles-to-empty indicator. In some cases, the low-fuel warning light also fails to warn drivers they soon might stall. Subaru says the fix will include a new software update, and owners are urged to contact their dealer’s service department for more details. Until the fix is installed, owners are urged to make sure they have sufficient gas in the tank before they set out on a trip.
