BMW Motorrad will kick off this week’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas with live demonstration runs of a riderless motorcycle. Developed as a research platform for future mobility innovations, the autonomous BMW R 1200 GS can ride off, accelerate, corner and slow to a standstill without any rider input. While not intended for road use, this prototype will help develop and test technologies that can assist riders in potentially dangerous situations, and make motorcycles more adaptable to future autonomous driving environments.
