While many of us are taking road trips during the warm summer months, BMW is busy getting ready to produce their newest offering for active drivers. Final preparations are underway at the company’s plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina to begin production of the all-new fourth generation BMW X5. The sport activity vehicle was introduced nearly 20 years ago, launching the BMW X model line-up. Since then, the company says they’ve sold more than 2.2 million X5’s world-wide. BMW started production at the Spartanburg plant in 1994. It has become their largest plant in the world. The South Carolina facility also produces the X3, X4 and X6. More than 70 percent of what they build is exported.
