An American car company is using international flare to try to attract customers.

Buick is announcing a new sub-brand called Avenir. Avenir is French for Future. The company hopes it will appeal to customers around the globe, building on Buick’s design inside and out. Avenir vehicles will add distinct touches, including a three-dimensional mesh grille, large-diameter wheels, and unique trim finishes. Inside, Avenir models will feature unique seat details, modern trim materials and Avenir script identification.

An Avenir concept car was unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit last year.
