Cadillac has announced plans to discontinue production of their ATS compact sedan after the 2018 model year, though ATS coupes will stay in production at least through 2019. Cadillac sells roughly twice as many SUVs as it does cars these days, yet remains committed to keeping sedans in its lineup. ATS production is being halted so that production plants can be to re-tooled and upgraded for a new generation of sedans, though no timetable has been given for their debut.  Cadillac’s next new product offering will be the XT4 compact SUV coming this fall.
