Chevrolet has expanded their repertoire of SUVs and appealed to the nostalgia of their fanbase with yesterday’s reveal of the 2019 Blazer midsize SUV. President of GM North America, Alan Batey says the all-new Blazer “strengthens the most comprehensive lineup of crossovers and SUVs on the market today.”

Filling the gap between the compact Equinox and full-size Traverse, the Blazer seats five passengers and will be offered in a variety of models including the sport-focused RS and amenity-rich Premier trims. A 193 hp 2.5L I4 engine is standard while a 305 hp 3.6L V6 can be optioned; both connect to a 9-speed automatic transmission. The Blazer is available in either front-wheel or all-wheel drive with RS and Premier trims boasting a more advanced twin-clutch AWD system. Traction Select will be standard across the model range.

Keeping active buyers in mind, the Blazer offers a number of adventure-minded features:

  • Hitch Guidance helps drivers align the trailer hitch with a digital center line on the back up camera.

  • Hitch View gives a top down view to make it easier to hitch a trailer without a second person.

  • Chevrolet’s first Cargo Management System, which uses rails and a cargo fence to secure small items in the back.

Pricing has yet to be announced, but we do know the 2019 Chevrolet Blazer will hit dealerships in early 2019.
