Chrysler 700 Concept Takes Minivan in New Design Direction
Edgy and minivan are not two words normally associated with one another. But Chrysler, the automaker that invented the minivan, is trying to change all that. In Detroit, Chrysler unveiled the 700 Concept, a swoopy-looking minivan that hints at a new design direction.
Of course it's chock-full of cup holders and kid-friendly features, but its chrome accents and aerodynamic design give it a sleek look that doesn't scream 'soccer mom.' Chrylser is the minivan sales leader with the Town and Country and the Caravan. Chrysler says its looking to stay on top by adapting the minivan to consumers' changing needs.
The Chrysler 700 Concept is on display now at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS). Photo is courtesy of NAIAS. For more on the stars of the auto show in Detroit, check out MotorWeek's podcast #65. http://www.motorweek.org/features/podcasts
