DeLorean Motor Company (DMC) has plans on taking us back in time by producing replicas of the famous car from the Back to the Future trilogy. DeLorean will make 300 replicas of the 1982 DMC-12 vehicle that has been out of production for more than 30 years. The replicas will be the first DeLoreans ever produced in the United States.

After going bankrupt in 1982, DeLorean Motor Company was later revitalized by mechanic Stephen Wynne. After acquiring the remaining parts inventory in 1995, DMC became a refurbishment facility that repaired and replaced parts for older model DeLoreans. According to the Detroit Free Press, a refurbished DeLorean cost $45,000 to $55,000.

The 1982 DeLorean DMC-12 replicas will go on sale early 2017 for close to $100,000. Stay tuned to MotorWeek for more!
