The Volkswagen Auto Group (Volkswagen AG) has reached an approved settlement agreement for private civil claims on the 2.0 liter TDI diesel engines affected by the “Dieselgate” emissions scandal. The agreement offers a buyback program on the following Volkswagen and Audi vehicles equipped with the 2.0 L TDI engine:

VW Beetle (2013-2015), VW Golf (2010-2015), VW Jetta (2009-2015), VW Passat (2012-2015), Audi A3 (2010-2013; 2015)

As reported by Automotive News, the settlement is worth nearly $10 billion, with Volkswagen offering “to buy back up to 475,000” affected vehicles.

If affected customers choose not to sell their vehicles back, they can elect for a free emissions modification - once on that complies with EPA regulations is apporved.
