Every August, car enthusiasts turn their attention to the California coast for the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. This year the renowned event is featuring something new: Dream Convertibles of the Eisenhower Era. Nine convertibles from the 1950’s will be on display, but the star of the show is the 1959 Eldorado Biarritz Convertible first seen by Americans during Ike’s inaugural ride. It’s almost 19 feet long with the largest tailfins ever fitted to a Cadillac. Other classic drop top rides include a Buick Skylark, an Oldsmobile Fiesta and offerings from Packard, Imperial, Continental and Chrysler.
