Driving the Demon, Durango, and Challenger Widebody (VIDEO)
MotorWeek is first on the scene in Indianapolis, Indiana driving a trio of treats from SRT.
First, the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Widebody gets a body kit and 20x11-inch wheels for better handling.
Also helping the cause is new Electric Power Steering with custom modes added to SRT drive modes. Lateral grip is improved by .04 gs.
The same 707-horsepower supercharged 6.2L HEMI V8 is under the hood, but due to more grip for launching, 0-60 improves by a tenth to 3.4-seconds.
Top speed: 195 mph.
You can order one now for $72,590; deliveries begin this fall.
Second, the 2018 Dodge Durango SRT gets Dodge's 392 HEMI V8 with 475-horsepower.
You may not need a 3-row SUV that does 12.9 in the 1/4 and gets to 60 in 4.4-seconds, but after driving this one you will certainly want it.
It can tow 8,700-lbs. The all-wheel-drive system gets more performance oriented tuning. The suspension gets new Bilstein active dampers, and of course there are Brembo brakes.
It gets a body kit, bigger air intakes up front, as well as a new hood with functional air scoop. The interior gets upgraded with Demonic Red Laguna leather and carbon fiber.
Third, the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is an 840-horsepower beast built to rule the drag strip. You probably already know it will run a 9.65-second 1/4-mile and hit 60 in 2.3-seconds.
The Hellcat's 6.2-liter HEMI gets beefed up, and the supercharger on top of it cranks out 14.5 psi of boost (2.9 more than standard Hellcat).
The 8-speed TorqueFlite 8HP90 automatic transmission gets upgraded to handle the additional power, as does the entire rest of the drive-train.
It comes equipped with Nitto drag radials. Only 3,300 will be built, with deliveries beginning this fall.
