GUILTY! The verdict is in for the ongoing Volkswagen diesel scandal, and the company has been sentenced in U.S. federal court to three felony counts, resulting in a $2.8 billion criminal penalty.  The U.S. Justice Department says Volkswagen sold diesel vehicles containing software designed to cheat on U.S. emissions tests. That’s a no-no.  The sentence also includes an independent corporate compliance monitor to oversee the company during a three-year probation.

In alternative fuel news that only applies to those living in California, Hyundai claims to have driven more than two-million miles in their fuel cell Tucsons.  There are currently more than 140 of them on the road, and so far they’ve replaced approximately 760 tons of CO2 emissions with water vapor.
