Technology and the auto industry are moving fast forward.  Toyota AI Ventures has launched a new $100 million fund.  They’re investing in startups in such areas as autonomous mobility and robotics.  Managing Director of Toyota AI Ventures Jim Adler says, “Auto manufacturers must participate in the startup ecosystem to stay ahead of the rapid shift in the auto industry”.

The company is well into this strategy having already invested in 19 startups in less than two years.  Some of their current investments are in companies tackling subjects like artificial intelligence, robotics, and a Level 4 self-driving shuttle service.  This latest move brings their investments into future technology up to $200 million around the world.
