The US-China trade war is taking a toll on a well-known name plate on American roads. Automotive News is reporting Ford Motor Co. is canceling plans to import a new version of the Focus to the U.S. from China because of new tariffs. Ford had planned on bringing a compact crossover version called the Focus Active to the U.S. next year. It’s already sold in Europe. However, because of the 25-percent tariffs on Chinese goods, Ford's president of North America, Kumar Galhotra, told Automotive news “our costs would be substantially higher. Our resources could be better deployed at this stage." The Focus has offered budget conscious American consumers a choice for 20-years.
