Ford Focus Best-Selling Car in the World
Ford’s efforts to become a global automaker appear to be paying off. The Ford Focus was the world’s best-selling car in 2012 according to a report just released by R.L. Polk & Co. The top ten list also includes the Ford F-Series which ranked third, and the Ford Fiesta which came in sixth and is the number one selling subcompact worldwide.
With more than one million cars sold around the world, the Focus outsold perennial sales champ Toyota Corolla by more than 147,000 units. China played a significant role, accounting for one in four sales of the Focus. Here in the U.S., sales of the Focus increased by 40 percent last year.
