Honda Fit EV Gets Highest-Ever 118 MPGe Rating
The Honda Fit EV moves to the head its class. With a combined 118 miles-per-gallon equivalency (MPGe) rating and a consumption rating of just 29 kilowatt hours per 100 miles, the Environmental Protection Agency has given the 2013 Fit EV its highest fuel efficiency rating ever. And it gets better. The annual fuel cost estimated by the EPA is just $500.
The EPA estimates the Fit EV’s combined city and highway driving range is 82 miles on a single charge, surpassing the EPA efficiency and range ratings of the Ford Focus Electric (105 MPGe, 76-mile range), Nissan Leaf (99 MPGe, 73-mile range), and Mitsubishi i-MiEV (112 MPGe, 62-mile range).
Honda will begin leasing the Fit EV in select California and Oregon markets this summer. If you live on the East Coast, look for it in showrooms in 2013. Monthly lease prices are set at $389 per month over three years. No other pricing has been announced.
