Honda Motor Co. said they will recall about 960,000 Fit subcompacts and 80,111 CR-V small SUVs from the 2006 model year around the world due to faulty power window switches.  Honda said, “The design of the power window. . .can allow residue from interior cleaners to accumulate, which can, over time with switch use, cause the electrical contacts to degrade and may lead to a fire in the switch.”  26,000 CR-Z compact hybrids will also be recalled due to programming issues with the engine control units.  No accidents have been reported due to the defects.
