Jaguar Land Rover’s InMotion Ventures is making a new investment in the future of mobility.  The company is investing $25 million in American rideshare company Lyft.  Jaguar Land Rover sees this as a chance to “develop and test its mobility services, including autonomous vehicles”.  The deal gives Lyft a fleet of Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles.

The wait will be a little less to buy a new Chevrolet Bolt EV.  Automotive News is reporting sales will start nationwide in August instead of September.  They report Chevrolet is ahead of schedule on training, new tools, and having enough inventory.  The Bolt began selling in California and Oregon in December.  Certified dealers across the country are now taking orders.

Toyota is being recognized by the United Nations.  The President of the UN General Assembly, Peter Thomson, praised the automaker’s commitment to sustainable automotive transportation.  The 2017 Toyota Mirai Fuel Cell and 2017 Prius Prime Plug-In Hybrid were on display at the first World Ocean Festival in New York this month.  Toyota is the automotive sponsor of the festival and The Ocean Conference at UN Headquarters.
