Maserati has revealed exterior photos of the brand’s first SUV, the Levante. This new model will help complete the existing range of passenger and sport cars, including the Quattroporte, Ghibli, GranTurismo and GranTurismo Convertible models.

According to Maserati, the Levante's chassis is designed to combine outstanding on-road performance with unrivaled handling and excellent off-road performance. The new SUV will feature a sophisticated electronic suspension with controlled damping and air springs, a “Q4” intelligent all-wheel drive and 8-speed automatic transmission specially calibrated for the new SUV. The Levante is also equipped with both gasoline and diesel engines.

The new Maserati Levante will be built at the Mirafiori plant in Turin. The first cars have already come off the assembly line with a European launch planned for this spring, followed by the rest of the world later this year.
