Day two of press days at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit turned the spotlight on the 2019 Jeep Cherokee.  The mid-size SUV gets an all-new front fascia, hood, LED headlamps.  There’s also a new 2.0-liter direct-injection turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine producing 270 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque.  The 3.2-liter Pentastar V-6 and 2.4-liter Tigershark MultiAir2 engines are also available. 

Lamborghini is also in Detroit unveiling the new Urus.  The Super Sport Utility Vehicle made its world premiere in Italy last month.  This is the first view for a North American audience.  This SUV is staying true to its super car DNA with a 650 hp 4.0 liter V8 twin-turbo engine, 0-62 time of 3.6 seconds, and up to six different driving modes.  The new Lamborghini Urus arrives in the Summer of 2018 starting at $200,000.

Volkswagen introduced the 2018 Passat GT.  The company says the sedan will have more than 20 sporty interior and exterior enhancements, like a lowered suspension and sport exhaust.  The 3.6-liter VR6 engine pumps out 280 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The 2018 Passat GT is expected in dealers in the spring.
