Porsche is taking their philosophy of producing plug-in hybrid with a clear focus on performance to a new level.  They’re adding their fastest most powerful Cayenne models: 2020 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid and Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid Coupe.  A 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 is teamed up with 100 kW electric motor generating a total system output of 670 horsepower and 663 lb-ft of torque.  That’s 129-horsepower and 96 lb-ft of torque more than the Cayenne Turbo and 215-horsepower and 147 lb-ft of torque more than the already robust Cayenne E-Hybrid.  The electric motor sits between the gasoline engine and the 8-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission.  Naturally it goes fast… 0-60 mph in 3-point-6 seconds with a top track speed of 183 mph.

Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, and Sport Chrono Package are standard ensuring the controlled and balanced handling you’d expect from a Porsche.  When it comes time to stopping Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes will bring this sporty SUV to a halt in a hurry. Rear Axle Steering is an option.  If you want to impress the neighbors with the Sport Exhaust that’s also extra.

The 2020 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid starts at $161,900 and the   2020 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid Coupe begins at $164,400.  The coupish design is also being added to the Cayenne E-Hybrid… with its 455-horsepower 3.0-liter single-turbo V6 and electric motor powertrain.  The 2020 Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid Coupe starts at $86,400.  They’re all expected to arrive at dealers early next year.
