Volkswagen plans to build more vehicles in the United States.  Reuters is reporting VW Group of America CEO Hinrich Woebcken recently commented in New York that they plan to add a five-seat SUV to their Chatanooga assembly plant’s roster, where the Passat and Atlas are currently built.  Woebcken did not say when it would start rolling off the assembly line. 

 

Volvo has a firm eye on the future, while remembering the past.  Production begins this month on the new XC60 mid-size SUV in Gothenburg, Sweden.  They’ll leave the factory 90-years to the month since Volvo built their first vehicle.  The XC60 was first introduced in 2008.
