The Polestar 1 will soon be on the road. The first road-going verification prototype cars are being produced. The 34 cars are being mostly hand-built in Sweden. These cars will help engineers determine how the carbon fiber bodied Polestar 1 handles the road, the weather, and during crash tests. This is the first time a brand in the Volvo Car Group has embarked on carbon fiber construction, so engineers are developing specialized equipment and construction techniques. While these prototypes are being built in Sweden the production version of the Polestar 1 will take place at the new Polestar Production Centre in Chengdu, China beginning next year.
