Porsche-designed Luxury Tower to Feature Auto Elevators
Parking can be a problem, particularly if you live in a high rise. Well, Porsche Design has the ultimate fix -- an auto elevator. The Germany-based Porsche Design Group is expanding into the real estate market with a proposed 57-story luxury tower in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida.
The proposed residential tower will include three circular platforms at the building's center which operate as passenger-speed 'automobile elevators' equipped with sensors that will take vehicles and their owners to their designated floor. The cars will then be parked at one of 284 robotic parking spaces adjacent to their owners' units. Sound good? The units will range from 3,000 to 9,500 square feet, and start at 2.9 million dollars, topping out at 9 million dollars.
