Self-driving guidelines under review, and a change in management at Nissan
A change at the White House is leading to a new look at self-driving technology. Automotive news is reporting U.S. Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao is reviewing guidelines issued by the previous administration. The policy was issued in September. It was aimed at auto manufacturers and other companies involved with bringing automated vehicles to the market to ensure the safety of the new technology. Automotive News reports automakers raised several concerns, including revealing data that could delay testing. They quote Chao as saying, "there’s a lot at stake in getting this technology right."
