Spy Photos of New Porsche Macan Crossover
Our spies tell us this is a well-disguised test mule for the 2014 Porsche Macan crossover. Wearing a fake front and rear treatment, the Macan, which means “tiger" in Indonesian, is at least a foot shorter than the Cayenne and will be ready to pounce on the likes of the BMW X3 and Range Rover Evoque.
Details are still sketchy, but we do know the Macan will ride on the Audi Q5’s chassis, and will also share the Auto Union’s power trains, which could include a turbo 4-cylinder and supercharged V6, possibly even a hybrid. The shape and final styling do favor Cayenne, but it’s hard to tell from these photos what details will separate them.
We’ll know more as we get closer to the official unveiling. The Macan goes on sale next year. Photos courtesy of Brenda Priddy & Co. See more pics on MotorWeek's Facebook Page and the full story on episode 3139.
