Subaru XV Crosstrek to Make North American Debut
Subaru is expanding its family of crossover-type vehicles with the 2013 XV Crosstrek. The new, five-door XV Crosstrek will makes its North American debut at the New York Auto Show.
Based on a modified version of the Impreza platform, the XV Crosstrek is powered by a 148-horsepower 2.0-liter boxer engine, with symmetrical all-wheel drive. There are two gearbox options, a five-speed manual or a Lineartronic CVT automatic.The standard five-speed manual transmission includes the Subaru Incline Start Assist feature, which will briefly hold the vehicle while the driver coordinates brake and clutch to pull away from a stop on a hill.
The EPA has not released official fuel economy figures yet, but Subaru estimates fuel economy at 25 mpg city, 33 mpg highway and 28 mpg combined.
Expect the 2013 XV Crosstrek to arrive in showrooms this fall.
