MotorWeek's Brian Roberts was first on the scene in San Francisco for the press launch of the all-new 2016 Mazda CX-9.  This midsize three-row crossover is already on its way to dealers around the country.  CX-9 prices start at $31,520 and it will be offered in four trim levels, including a new luxurious "Signature" model as the top spec.

The 2016 CX-9 is shorter in length but has a longer wheelbase, which increases interior room.  The overall weight is down an average of 260 lbs between FWD and AWD models.

A 2.5 liter four cyclinder turbocharged engine is the only available powerplant and features best in class low-end torque and mpg, at 22 city / 28 hwy.

The CX-9 includes several firsts for Mazda. It's their first vehicle with a windshield-based active driving display, their first with a full color 4.6 inch display in the instrument cluster, and their first vehicle with lane keep assist.  Be sure to subscribe to MotorWeek on YouTube for more updates, soon!
