Toyota Sienna Earns Bragging Rights to Cheapest Insurance Rates
2.14.2012
They may not be the hottest thing on four wheels, but minivans top the list of cheapest to insure vehicles. Insure.com released its annual ranking of highest and lowest insurance rates. The Toyota Sienna LE was the least expensive at $1,111 per year, while the Audi R8 Spyder Quattro Convertible cost $3,384 to insure annually.
High priced cars with powerful engines can translate into more crashes, higher repair bills and expensive injuries, while practical, family-oriented cars like minivans and SUVs have more safety features and are more economical. Insure.com’s annual ranking of rates is based on average premiums for a 40-year-old single male who commutes 12 miles to work.
