Volkswagen to Boost Investments in Renewable Energy
August 29, 2011
Volkswagen is planning to invest nearly $1.5 billion into its commitment to renewable and green energy over the course of the next two years. By looking to purchase offshore windparks, and signing a deal to draw roughly 10 percent of its electricity from hydropower, VW will have reduced its greenhouse gas emissions by about 40 percent over a period of ten years; a substantial increase over their previous target announced at the end of June.
