The teasing is over, here’s the new Volvo XC40.  The company’s first small premium SUV was unveiled in Milan, Italy.  The first model of the new 40 series will be built on the newly developed Compact Modular Architecture.  The XC40 will share some of the connectivity and infotainment technologies with the larger 90 and 60 Series. The power comes from a D4 diesel or a T5 gas four-cylinder.  Hybrid and electric versions will come later.  Production of the Volvo XC40 begins in November, but they’re already taking orders.

Delphi and Blackberry are teaming up to bring autonomous driving to more vehicles.  Delphi says their turnkey automated driving system will have enhanced performance and safety with the Blackberry deal.  Blackberry’s contribution is also expected to help combat cyber-attacks.  They plan to launch the automated driving system in 2019.

Another new partnership is leading to a feast for the eyes.  Lamborghini unveiled the new Huracán Super Trofeo EVO in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy.  It’s marks the new partnership with Swiss luxury watchmaker Roger Dubuis.  The car will make its official track debut in the spring of 2018.  The price is $295,000.
