One of the stars of the 2008 Los Angeles Auto Show was the 2010 Mazda3 sedan.

This second generation four-door compact gets an evolutionary overhaul on all fronts, sharing most styling cues with the new Mazda6.  Zoom-zoom comes from either a new-to-the-car 167-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder, or a carryover 148-horsepower 2.0-liter 4. Fuel economy is up by as much as 10%.

Even with retaining its proven chassis, our first outing through the canyons north of LA showed major improvements in both ride and handling.

Within, the Mazda3’s cockpit focuses oven more on sportiness and optimal ergonomics.  The redesigned instrument panel now features a handy Multi-Information Display, and push button start.  Seats have also been redesigned to provide more support for spirited driving.

“The 2010 Mazda3 is a good thing made better.  It’s more dynamic in both performance and styling.  Fans of the car will not be disappointed.” – Shamit Choksey

With a base price of near $14,000, the Mazda3 Sedan will hit showrooms in early 2009 with a hatchback to follow.
