2012 Acura TL
While not all-new, the 2012 Acura TL has been substantially revised with upgraded styling, a new transmission, and new hi-tech features. First, the styling. The most notable change to Acura's best selling model is the new front fascia with a shield-like grille that's thankfully a bit tamer than before. The whole front end looks lower and pointier, yet smoother overall. Things have been smoothed out on the rear fascia as well with new tail lights and new trim.
The new transmission now has 6 speeds and improves fuel economy ratings to 20 City and 29 Highway for the front-wheel-drive TL. We liked the current TL's interior just fine, but for 2012 materials have also been upgraded. The center stack contains a revised audio and navigation system with better bluetooth phone pairing as well as streaming audio. And a new Advance Package adds Blind Spot Monitoring and ventilated front seats.
"The Vue Two-Mode Hybrid proves that power and efficiency can coexist, and in a modern crossover you can have them both without skimping on any ability." – Ben Davis
With all these updates, the base price for the 2012 Acura TL has snuck up to over $36,000, and they're in dealerships now.
