2012 Subaru Impreza
While the Subaru Impreza is a popular choice among Subaru loyalists, it never had the broad-based appeal that many of its rivals have achieved. Well, this 2012 Subaru Impreza looks to change that.
Now in its fourth generation, the Impreza packs an all-new 2-liter Boxer engine with a dual Active Valve Control System that boosts fuel economy by 30 percent over the previous Impreza, 27-city and 36-highway makes it the most fuel efficient gasoline powered all-wheel-drive car available in the U.S.
BEN DAVIS: The unique thing about Impreza compared to other vehicles in this segment with similar gas mileage is there’s no sacrifices. You still have strong power, quick acceleration, and great handling. And that’s something that this segment usually gives up in exchange for good fuel economy.
The interior gets a nice upgrade with more soft touch materials and the new Impreza also features a longer wheelbase, which provides additional room for both passengers and cargo. As before, the Impreza will be available as both a 4-door sedan and 5-door hatchback with prices starting just over $18,000.
