The success of Mazda’s KODO design proved to be a shot in the arm, for both the brand and the newest mid-size Mazda6. And now, that same style is translating to the smaller proportions of the Mazda3.
And for us, it works. The long sloping hood and sharp accents add presence, and a stand-out look within the small-car segment. The interior sees the first application of MAZDA CONNECT, a new infotainment system with easier to navigate menus.
Power is from a pair of Sky-Activ four cylinders; a 2.0-liter with 155 horsepower, or a 2.5 rated at 184.
The Mazda 3 features i-ELOOP: a new regenerative braking system to power onboard electronics. And, an automated low-speed braking system dubbed Smart City Brake Support.
Starting around $18,000 the 2014 Mazda3 is available in sedan and five door hatchback and it’s on sale now.
