2018 Chevrolet Traverse
Utilities are a growing business, and Chevrolet is certainly thinking that way with the all-new 2018 Traverse. This second-gen 3 row crossover shares the same basic chassis as the GMC Acadia. But, while the Acadia shrinks, the Traverse grows in wheelbase and overall length… making it almost 11-inches longer than the Acadia.
Since it first arrived for 2009, the Traverse has been a top competitor with its spacious cabin, solid handling and stable sedan-like feel. That tradition continues for ‘18 with even more direct steering delivering quick, secure responses to driver inputs.
Styling is sleeker now, with chrome accents, LED accent lighting and available LED headlights lending a more upscale look. The lineup now includes sporty RS and ultra-luxury High Country trims.
The 3.6-liter V6 rates 310 horsepower matched with a new 9-speed automatic transmission. It showed us plenty of zip for hauling up to 8 people and all their stuff. The sportier tuned RS model gets a 2.0-liter turbo.
On sale this fall, the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse starts at just under $30,000.
Engine: 3.6 liter
