INFINITI’s philosophy of “continuous improvement” is evident in the 2018 INFINITI Q50. Four years ago, the G-Series name was replaced with the “Q”.

Now the luxury brand’s best-selling car gets a refresh…most noticeable on the top trim Red Sport 400. The front fascia is more aggressively potent, with wider and lower air intakes. Around back the sleeker LED taillights sit above a two-toned rear diffuser, straddled by unique twin exhausts. Inside this premium sport sedan, the paddle shifters move from the column to the steering wheel for easier reach mid-turn.

GARICK ZIKAN: “So here we are in the driver’s seat of the new 2018 INFINITI Q50. The cabin is quiet, it’s refined, and it’s easy to get comfortable in these spinal support seats. We’re in the Red Sport 400…so there’s a sense of sportiness in here, there are also 400 horses up there and they will run with very little coxing.”

JOHN DAVIS: That’s from its uniquely tuned 3.0-liter Twin Turbo V6, the most powerful of 4 Q50 choices. The 400’s 7-speed automatic notches seamlessly through the gears, as this rear or all-wheel drive sedan stays nearly dead flat around the curves, yet even in sport mode, with an impressive ride.

The 2018 INFINITI Q50 is on sale now starting at just over $34,000, with the Red Sport 400 at 51,000.
