On our recent swing through the Midwest, we met up with Indiana-based Lingenfelter Performance Engineering to take a spin in their newest pair of supercharged barnstormers, an all-out Camaro, and dare we say it, sleeper Corvette. Both vehicles embody Lingenfelter’s performance-without-compromise philosophy, bred from years of drag and road racing success.
This screaming yellow Corvette showcases a low-profile Edelbrock Supercharger installation that fits under the stock C6 hood. Pair that with Lingenfelter’s own camshaft ported LS3 cylinder heads and other engine bits, and you wind up with 670 horsepower. That channels through a ZR1-style dual disk clutch kit into an otherwise stock Corvette chassis.
Without the windshield banner and decals, you’d be hard-pressed to guess the street beast that lurks within, until you mash the go-pedal that is, and watch the scenery start to blur. As equipped, this package adds $15,426 to the price of any C6 Corvette. This silver streak Camaro is a different beast altogether, and includes a fully adjustable suspension upgrade kit and body package with High Rise hood to go with its supercharged 427 cubic inch LS7 V8. Magnuson/Eaton supplies the blower, but Lingenfelter adds their own rear-drive pulley system
and internal engine hardware.
Output jumps to a whopping 750 tire-shredding horsepower. Normal wheels and tires are 20-inchers, but for track work, these 18’s are lighter and help drop the car’s center of gravity for improved handling. Despite the enormous power, Lingenfelter’s Camaro is very manageable. But this much performance does demand deep pockets. The engine kit alone is $48,000. That guarantees this Lingenfelter experience will remain exclusive.
