Porsche is adding even more choices to their line-up with the new Porsche Panamera GTS and Panamera GTS Sport Turismo. Slicker GTS trim fits into the Porsche line-up between the 4S and Turbo. And if you’re counting… there are now 18 Panamera models. So much for those who doubted a 5-door sedan could pull off Porsche’s charisma.

Power is a 4-liter twin-turbo V8 GTS rated at 453-horsepower. That’s 13 more than the naturally aspirated 4.8-liter V8 in the previous GTS. Eight-speed dual-clutch PDK gearing sends power to all four wheels for immense grip. We experienced that on the street and track in Bahrain.

"Now we’re getting into some of the switchbacks and this is really where you can feel the weight. It actually doesn’t roll as much as you’d think and a lot of that is due to PDCC, which is also optional Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control and that is a 48 Volt system, which controls the stabilizers. And those are electronically controlled stabilizers over hydraulic stabilizers so they just react that much quicker."

GTS models sit about a third of an inch lower than other Panameras. And for the first time, a head-up display is being offered… while popular options like the Sport Chrono package are standard.

Once again Porsche has given their luxury sedan a new dose of the sports-car treatment worthy of the badge. Preordering is now underway. The 2019 Porsche Panamera GTS starts at $128,300.

The GTS Sport Turismo goes for another 62-hundred.
